We are not what we believe we are
It seems that our Ancestors came on thia planet 2 billion years ago from other Solar systems in order to create and develop a great civilization. They came at first to exploit the uranium reserves found in Gabon, at Oklo. Finally they settled on earth. They lived in peace and harmony some time, but they found at some very point involved in a terrific nuclear war. The nuclear and chemical radiations have greatly affected the brains, health and lifespan of survivors in such a way that they believed afterwards in what their hot fantasy told them it was true. Most of them, although not all of them. There are many evidences displayed all over the Earth, Moon (surveillance base) and Mars (temporary settlement), mainly in Central-European mountains (Romania) and in desserts. It's a matter of time of acknowledge such things. Time and mental development, of course.
